The Banana Bread Recipe: A Generational Tradition
This banana bread recipe isn’t just any old recipe. It’s been handed down through the generations in our family, going so far back we aren't to sure who came up with it. We remember the smell of this sweet, moist banana bread filling the house every time it was made. It became a family staple, a special treat for birthdays, holidays, or just because. As the years passed, it became a cherished tradition, and now, it’s something we at Fabled Farms are proud to share with you.
At Fabled Farms, we believe in honoring the past while sharing the goodness of the present, and what better way to do that than by offering this beloved recipe to our customers? We know that food connects us to memories, and we’re excited to carry this tradition forward for you to enjoy with your family.
The Best Banana Bread Recipe (No Yeast)
Here’s the recipe we’ve been making for years. Simple, delicious, and perfect for any occasion. Whether you’re looking for a quick snack, a gift for a friend, or something special to take to the family gathering, this banana bread is sure to hit the spot.
Ingredients:

3 ripe bananas, mashed
1 cup sugar (white or brown works)
1/4 cup butter, softened
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup milk (optional for added moistness)
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup chocolate chips (because who doesn't love chocolate?)
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
In a large bowl, cream together the mashed bananas, sugar, and butter until smooth.
Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the banana mixture, mixing well.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, stirring just until combined. If the batter seems a bit thick, add the milk to loosen it up a little.
Fold in the walnuts and chocolate chips.
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
Bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Allow the banana bread to cool for 10-15 minutes in the pan, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Slice and enjoy!

A Special Twist to Our Banana Bread

Although this banana bread recipe has been passed down for generations in our family, we at Fabled Farms have added our own special touch to make it even more irresistible. We’ve incorporated walnuts and chocolate chips into the batter, giving it an extra layer of flavor and crunch. Let’s face it, who doesn’t love chocolate in their banana bread?
It’s so good, in fact, that we can barely put any up to save for later—our whole family comes out of the woodwork to snatch it up as soon as it’s out of the oven. We’ve made this bread for years, and it still has that magical, “everyone needs a slice” appeal.
Why We Love Quick Breads
Quick breads are a perfect example of simple, wholesome baking that anyone can do, no matter their level of experience. With no yeast to worry about, they’re accessible and forgiving. And as for banana bread, it’s such a versatile recipe. You can enjoy it as is, top it with a bit of butter, or even pair it with your favorite jam. It’s the perfect treat for any occasion, and we think it’s the kind of recipe that just brings people together.
Plus, banana bread is a great way to use up ripe bananas that would otherwise go to waste. We love reducing food waste wherever we can, and turning overripe bananas into delicious bread is a simple, sustainable solution.
